Costumes & Fittings

 

COSTUMES NOTES:

  • CORPS & DIVERTISSEMENT DANCERS: provide pink mesh tights with seams, Pointe shoes, white, pink and nude dance trunks.
  • REINDEER: provide solid white underwear.
  • POLICHINELLES: provide white tights, white ballet slippers and a white or light color scoop neck leotard.
  • ANGELS: provide pink tights and pink ballet slippers.
  • PARTY SCENE BOYS: provide solid white undershirts and underpants.
  • PARTY SCENE GIRLS: provide white tights.
  • PARTY SCENE MEN: provide black dress shoes.
  • PARTY SCENE WOMEN: provide black character shoes.

PVB appreciates the donation of any outgrown ballet slippers of all colors and sizes.

 

COSTUME FITTINGS: dates & times will be given at rehearsals
 CAST MEMBERS, WHEN YOU ARRIVE FOR YOUR FITTING, PLEASE PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE SECOND STUDIO. PARENTS, AGAIN, BECAUSE OF THE SIZE OF OUR FACILITY, PLEASE ESCORT YOUR CHILD TO THE FRONT DOOR AND THEN WAIT FOR THEM OUTSIDE.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT MISS THE COSTUME FITTING FOR YOUR PERFORMANCE GROUP.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING!

 

HAIR NOTES:

  • Party Scene LADIES, MEN, GIRLS & BOYS should not cut their hair and are responsible for arriving with hair styled for dress rehearsals and performances in 1850’s styles with no bangs. (Please ask if you have questions.)  A demonstration for PARTY GIRL Ringlets will be held for parents during rehearsal time.  Date TBA.
  • ANGELS must arrive with hair in a high 4” bun following the diagonal line of their jaw and no bangs
  • POLICHINELLES, PAGES, REINDEER, SOLDIERS, & MICE must arrive with hair pulled off face and flat to top of head and no bangs.

  How to Make a Proper Ballet Bun

 

MAKE-UP NOTES:

  • All Theatre make-up for children is provided and is hypo-allergenic.
  • Cast members must supply their own hair brush, hair supplies, face wipes and cleansing cream for make-up removal.
  • Please pull hair back into ponytails or buns before make-up is applied      (Party Scene GIRLS & LADIES wear hair in net.)
  • Also, wear a button-down shirt or leotard (no turtlenecks) to make-up rehearsals and performances.
  • No one will be allowed to leave the theatre wearing stage make-up.
  • Cast members who wish to provide their own lipstick may purchase the following colors:
    • Party Scene GIRLS & LADIES, ANGELS, PAGES – any “wine” without purple tints
    • Party Scene MEN & BOYS—Loreal “Coffee Bean” or equivalent
    • SOLDIERS – Revlon “Red” or equivalent
  • Those who do not provide their own lipstick will use PVB provided lipstick in the above colors that will be wiped with a tissue between each use.
  • REINDEER & POLICHINELLE lips are done with a special pencil that is sharpened between each use.
