About Us

Pioneer Valley Ballet is a local non-profit that fosters an appreciation of dance on a regional level for local audiences, gives dedicated young dancers the opportunity to perform at a pre-professional level and provides all children the opportunity to experience the joys of movement and music through the study of classical ballet.

Training Program

Under the artistic direction of Thomas Vacanti and Maryanne Kodzis, Pioneer Valley Ballet is dedicated to providing all children with the opportunity to experience the joys of movement through the study of classical ballet. Whether or not children aspire to professional dance careers, the exercises and teaching styles used in ballet classes create strong, healthy students who develop poise, confidence, respect and self-esteem.

Educational Outreach

Designed for students PreK-5, Pioneer Valley Ballet presents a 75-minute workshop featuring excerpts from the ballet performed by professional and pre-professional dancers and a guided exploration of ballet led by a dancer/educator.

Affirmative Action

Each season, PVB donates tens of tickets to area non-profits catering to under-served populations.

Summer Program

PVB’s summer programs provide pre-professional ballet training and give students the opportunities to explore a variety of movement and dance styles. Beginner and Intermediate programs begin with a classical ballet class reflective of PVB's year-round training.
