Program
Policies
Current Lower Division students (Creative Movement- Beginning Ballet II) usually progress one level per year, although there are times when it is necessary to repeat a year. Intermediate and Advanced students will be placed and promoted at the directors’ discretion and must attend all classes listed at their level for optimal improvement. New students will be placed at an appropriate level during the first week of classes.
Please remember that the PVB school year is from September to June. This is a YEAR LONG, carefully designed program to educate your child in the art of dance. Mid-year dropouts are strongly discouraged (please see our refund policies).
Students should arrive at least 15 minutes early and be fully prepared at the start of their class time. Due to physical safety issues, students who arrive more than ten to fifteen minutes late may be asked to sit and observe class. Please call the office and leave a message if a student is sick and will be missing class.
We will hold three “Visitors’ Weeks” during the school year (weeks of November 13-18, February 12-17, April 9-14) at which time family members and friends are invited to sit and observe class. We ask that visitors respect the focused atmosphere and refrain from cell phone use or excessive talking.
When schools are closed due to snow, PVB will also call a snow day. Cancellations will be posted on our web site and on the PVB voice mail. In the event of afternoon or weekend storms, please call the studio.
- All students must pay a non-refundable Registration Fee for classes taken between September and June.
- Your place in class is not secure until you have filled out and signed the registration/waiver form and paid the non-refundable registration fee and 40% of the annual training fee, unless other arrangements have been made with the Business Manager.
- Training fee payment schedule is as follows: 40% due at registration, 30% due on November 16th, final 30% due on March 1st.
- A 10% discount will apply to the training fees of each additional sibling in the same family. This discount will not apply for any student already receiving a discount or financial assistance.
- Male students receive a 50% discount of training program fees (does not apply to Summer Programs, class cards or individual classes).
- A limited amount of financial assistance is available. Application forms are available through the PVB office.
- All invoices not paid by the 10th of the following month will be charged a finance charge of 1.5% of the outstanding balance per month until paid in full.
- Students with an outstanding balance (including finance charge balance) cannot register for classes or performances until the full balance is paid.
- Refund requests can only be honored within the first 3 weeks of classes and will be prorated. Refund requests after that time will be made at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors for extreme medical and humanitarian reasons only. A doctor’s note for medical reason or supporting proof for humanitarian reason must be presented. Unless the student will no longer be training at PVB, approved refunds will ONLY be in the form of credit for future training fees. Any refunds approved will be paid out by the end of the PVB fiscal year.
- Unused classes on class cards are non-refundable. They are transferable or can be applied toward training program fees.
- PVB will charge $25.00 for a returned check fee. Replacement payment and fee must then be in the form of money order or bank check.
