The PVB Board of Directors is excited to announce the formation of committees which we invite you to join! Our hope is to involve parents, guardians and friends in these committees to increase communication and representation of the PVB community. Your talent and experience outside of the world of ballet and performance could certainly be an asset to one of our committees! Not only would you help PVB improve and expand, but you would be showing your dancer how important PVB is to you as well.
Committees will meet once a month for an hour, and then as necessary when special events or projects arise. The chairperson of each committee listed below will become your direct contact for your involvement.
The Marketing & Development Committee – the goal of this committee is to promote and represent PVB in the community through publicity and marketing, as well as increase corporate and individual sponsorships. This committee meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 5:00pm, and is chaired by Board of Directors member Cathy Hartley (cathy@hblcorp.net).
The Educational Outreach Committee – the goal of this committee is to increase development of educational outreach programs and to expand performance opportunities with area schools and venues. This committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 5:00pm, and is chaired by Board Vice President Martha Potyrala (potyralam@yahoo.com).
The Fundraising & Event Planning Committee - the goal of this committee is to provide leadership and ideas for fundraising initiatives and planning for upcoming events, such as Open House, auditions, receptions, etc. This committee meets the 1st Thursday of every month at 5:00pm. The chair of this committee is Board Secretary Laura Chernosky (laurachernosky@comcast.net).
The Grant Writing Committee – the goal of this committee is to actively research and apply for grants that are applicable to our organization.
Please consider joining one of these committees to help PVB, and ultimately, your children. Feel free to contact me or one of the committee chairs if you have any questions or would like to volunteer for a committee. The time commitment would be small, but the value would be enormous!
