SUMMARY:The Nutcracker
DESCRIPTION:PVB begins its season each winter with The Nutcracker. This treasured community event includes over 250 dancers from towns throughout Western Massachusetts\, performing parts ranging from enchanting snowflakes to the tiniest reindeer. They dance alongside pre-professional students and guest artists from Boston\, New York\, and the Carolina Ballet.\n\n\n2017 Performances: \n  \nFriday December 8th at 4:00pm \nSensory and Family Safe Presentation \nGeneral admission tickets: $25 for all seats (box office fees apply) \nThis newly created performance has lighting and sound accommodations for reduced sensory experiences. A narrator will assist the audience at the start of the performance. This show will run approximately 1 hour without an intermission. \n  \nFriday December 8th at 7:00pm \nCelebration Performance \n$50 Orchestra and Loge\, $35 Upper Balcony (box office fees apply) \nJoin us for a full evening of entertainment. Arrive at 6:30 for a vocal holiday treat\, followed by our full-length production of The Nutcracker. At intermission\, enjoy live music and the chance to meet a guest artist or two. The play by Beaumarchais on which the opera was based has occasionally been banned by the powerful. Come find out why.

DESCRIPTION:In our spring 2018 ballet\, we bring to stage Pioneer Valley Ballet’s popular production of “The Little Mermaid.” This full length ballet showcases trained dancers from PVB as well as professional guest artists from around the region. \nSet to Camille Saint Saens’ musical score\, don’t miss this extravagant production based on the fairy tale by the Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen about a young mermaid willing to give up her life in the sea and her identity as a mermaid to gain a human soul and the love of a human prince.

DESCRIPTION:Our spring classes for ages 4+ begin April 9th. \n\nWe are dedicated to providing all children with the opportunity to experience the joys of movement through the study of classical ballet. Whether or not children aspire to professional dance careers\, the exercises and teaching styles used in ballet classes create strong\, healthy students who develop poise\, confidence\, respect and self-esteem. \nAt PVB\, we believe that ballet is available for people of all ages and all body types. We believe that our classes support the development of creative thinking\, problem solving skills and the expansion of imaginative reach.
