Cinderella...With A Twist!

Based on an old European folk tale, the original Cinderella story has captivated audiences through picture books, movies, animation, and dance. On Saturday, May 9th, Pioneer Valley Ballet will bring a new spectacular adaptation of this audience favorite to Northampton’s historic Academy of Music Theatre for two performances.

PVB’s Cinderella…With a Twist tells the story of a kindhearted girl who lives with her cruel Stepmother and Stepsisters, and a bookish, introverted Prince who can’t seem to make his parents happy. Experience the hijinks that ensue as Cinderella and the Prince are magically transformed by the Fairy Godmother then meet and fall in love at the royal ball. When the clock strikes midnight, a single glass slipper sets the stage for a kingdom-wide search, leading to adventure, laughter, and the triumph of kindness over cruelty.

Set to a musical score by Sergei Prokofiev, Pioneer Valley Ballet’s production of Cinderella enchants audiences with dazzling costumes, stunning scenery, and exquisite choreography by Artistic Directors Maryanne Kodzis and Thomas Vacanti. The talented cast features professional dancers along with hundreds of PVB students and community dancers from across Western MA.
