The Nutcracker 2025
We begin our season each winter with The Nutcracker.
PVB’s pre-professional dancers, professional guest artists, and community performers from across Western Massachusetts tell the classic tale of The Nutcracker in this treasured community event. Pioneer Valley Ballet has been performing this holiday classic for over 40 years, one of the longest-running performances of The Nutcracker ballet in New England.
The Nutcracker is based on the story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King written in 1816 by E.T.A. Hoffman. The ballet was first produced in 1892, set to a beloved musical score by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Join Clara as she battles the Rat King to save the Nutcracker Prince, then travel to meet delightful characters in the enchanted Snow Forest and beautiful Kingdom of Sweets. The story of The Nutcracker is a holiday classic that has charmed audiences of all ages for decades!
